Universal Geneve’s Tri-Compax is a mechanical tour-de-force, combining a chronograph with triple date and moonphase in a surprisingly legible format. The 881101 takes this paragon of watchmaking and gives it a decidedly sporty look, including a fixed tachymeter bezel and twisted lugs harkening to the manufacturer’s Polerouter model. This reference was famously photographed on the wrist of musician and legendary watch collector, Eric Clapton.
