The Tudor Submariner “Snowflake” represented a significant change in design from the standard Rolex Submariner. First, the introduction of square luminous hour markers and geometric-shaped hands differentiated the Snowflake from its Rolex Submariner big brother. Moreover, Tudor Submariners were significantly influenced by the French Military highlighting the Snowflake as a true “tool watch”. And last, the Snowflake was the first Tudor Submariner to use a third-party movement, making the Snowflake a high quality precision timepiece available at a lower price than Rolex Submariners. Overall, the Snowflake is a very special and different watch than the Submariner; certainly a must-have in any serious watch collection.
