Heuer entered the dive watch market in the late 1970s with a stylish group of watches. The 980 replaced the original 844 series around 1981. The French Monnin case and FE movement gave way to Swiss MRP cases and ETA 2783 movements. These transitional Swiss divers are extremely unusual and the orange dial version is the rarest and most desirable, especially with the original bracelet.
